Appearance
Tall, curvy, and athletically built humanoid woman - the Dolorosa stands 6'2" not including her horns, broad in the shoulders and hips, and she's a melee fighter whose weapon of choice is a full-sized chainsaw, with the musculature to make that feasible. Grey skin, eyes green-on-gold, pronounced eyeteeth. She can emit a steady glow from her skin and eyes, but as the glowing is associated with her vampiric nature, usually suppresses this unless she's either intending to intimidate someone or is completely at ease around them. Abstract tattoos on arms and torso, usually hidden by clothes - she favors layered robes or dresses in shades of grey and jade green.

Personality
The Dolorosa is about as subtle as a six-foot-plus chainsaw-wielding vampire troll can be - quietly dignified and more nurturing than is typical of a troll, she's more comfortable in a "power behind the throne" position than in a position of direct leadership. Her usual demeanor is diplomatic and a little aloof; she's well aware of her own potential for intimidation, and makes an effort to appear nonthreatening unless the other party offers threat first. She's not a pushover, though, and while she's not the mystic that some in her immediate circle are, she's certainly an idealist and a risk-taker in her own right, unafraid to endure hardship or take a chance on another person. She can be fiercely protective and warmly supportive of those she takes under her wing, and has no love lost for Her Imperious Condescension or her oppressive regime.

About Trolls
Trolls are the dominant intelligent species of the planet Alternia, outwardly humanoid in form as adults, with a pseudo-insectoid life cycle. Their society is rigidly stratified in biological castes most obviously indicated by the pigmentation of their blood; lifespan, physical strength, and psychic ability are also linked to the hemospectrum. The Dolorosa is a member of the jadeblood caste, responsible for tending the semi-sentient Mother Grubs and larval trolls; as a young woman, she defected to raise a young mutant troll and was later associated with a significant caste-equality movement which was ultimately crushed and suppressed by the authorities.
Trolls are primarily nocturnal; the Dolorosa is both naturally more sun-tolerant than most trolls and afflicted with a vampiric condition that renders her nearly immune to the negative effects of Alternia's blistering sunlight. Other symptoms of the rainbow drinker condition include bioluminescence, the need to supplement her diet with the blood of other trolls, and regenerative capabilities beyond those of a living troll; when recovering from a serious injury, she is unusually bad-tempered and has a greater drive to hunt and feed on others.
